EXEC LETTER: ANDREA THOENE

Dearest UNI Dance Marathon, I love you. There, I said it. I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it! Really though, thank you. Thank you UNI Dance Marathon, for all that you have taught me. I have learned so much from being a part of this great organization. For starters, you have taught me how to appreciate life. A person never realizes how precious their life is until someone else has their life threatened. Watching our miracles kiddos fight for their lives makes me realize just how lucky I am to be in perfect health. We are all so fortunate, that sometimes we forget just how good we have it. But thanks to Dance Marathon, I will never take my life for granted again. You have also taught me how important it is to help one another. I truly believe we were put on this earth to give back, for all that we have been given. And there is no greater reward than getting to help those who need it, especially through an organization that is so worthy. Another thing you have taught me is to how to have a lot of fun. UNI Dance Marathon, you are a blast! How much better does it get, when we get to have a party to celebrate kiddos, and raise money for the University of Iowa Children’s hospital? It just doesn't get much better than that. Finally, you have taught me how to love: how to love an organization, and how to love the people who are a part of it. I love every aspect of you. I love the fun we get to have, I love the celebrations we get to take part in, and I even love the stress I feel, because everything we do is worth it. Everything we do is for the kids. And how could you not love that? So thank you, UNI Dance Marathon. I love you.
