Be The Reason

WELCOME TO UNIDM 2021!

Our names are Alisha Kammerude and Nicole Deir, and we are your Executive Co Directors for the UNI Dance Marathon 2021 season.

Alisha is a Senior at UNI with a double major in Psychology and Family Services with a minor in Mental Health. This is Alisha’s fourth year in Dance Marathon. She started out as a media committee member, and was the Head Photographer/Assistant Director of Media for two years. Nicole is a Junior at UNI majoring in Biology Pre-Chiropractic. Nicole was a Morale Captain for the past two years, serving as the leader of Team 30. Neither of us expected to get the amazing opportunity to lead UNI’s largest student organization, but we are so grateful

and ecstatic to see what this year brings.

We are so excited to announce our year long campaign, Be the Reason!

Be the Reason means so much to us. Going into this year much like our kiddos journeys, there are so many unknowns. We have no idea what the future brings. However, we look at this as an opportunity to focus on what matters most, our kiddos.

Every person who registers for Dance Marathon has their own reason to dance. Whether they were treated at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, or found their reason within our organization, every reason gives hope to future generations.

We challenge you to find your reason. We challenge you to Be the Reason. Be the Reason a kiddo smiles today, Be the Reason a kiddo has another birthday, Be the Reason a family gets another day with their child, Be the Reason a kiddo gets more dance parties, Be the Reason our kiddos get a chance to fight another day.
