UNI Dance Marathon would like to invite you to consider hosting a Mini-Marathon at your school. We love to see kids fundraising and fighting for this amazing cause. By holding a Mini-Marathon you provide your school to have a sense of unity, show the importance of philanthropy, and create awareness of childhood illness. A Mini-Marathon allows students to learn all of this in a fun and exciting way.

WHAT IS A MINI MARATHON?

A Mini-Marathon is a fundraiser that raises awareness in a way that is catered to the student body. The money raised through the fundraiser is presented to UNI Dance Marathon and is added to the total, which is then donated to the nearest Children's Miracle Network Hospital, the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. We are very open to supplying ideas and help as you need, but ultimately your school's student body can choose what they would enjoy most. We are always available to help plan the fundraiser or event and meet or have phone conferences with students. We want to make it easy and enjoyable for students to both organize and attend your fundraising event.

FUNDRAISING IDEAS

Listed below are some fundraising ideas to help get your school started:

  • A smaller version of UNI DM’s Big Event

  • Change wars

  • Dance during P.E. class

  • Sell carnations or Crush pop on Valentine’s Day

  • Pie your teacher

  • Hat days

  • Bake sales

  • Photo booth (get picture taken for a donation)

  • Pancake breakfasts

  • Canning at athletic events

  • School carnival

  • School dance with paid entry

  • Dodge ball tournament

  • Volleyball tournament

  • Club fundraising competitions
