Hello UNI DM Family! November was an action-packed month for our organization. Here are some highlights, things to know, and fun facts to keep you informed about the DM world

KIDDO UPDATE!

On November 18th, Team Sanders announced that our very own miracle kiddo Sanders Moffit is now in remission! Sanders was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2013 and has been battling it on and off for the past three years. He truly is a miracle, and his announcement of remission is a great gift for the UNI DM family during this holiday season. Come congratulate him at the Big Event on March 4th, 2017!

FTK WEEK!

The week of November 28th-December 2nd was FTK week on campus. With an event every day, it was a busy week! Monday gave students the opportunity to write letters to kiddos and boasted a fundraising workshop. Tuesday, DM hosted a De-Stress event and another fundraising workshop. Wednesday, Chad’s Pizza hosted a giveback day, and there was a silent auction and a hilarious talent show. Thursday was Team Iowa day and Friday there was a bake sale in the Union. It was a great week for DM to represent across campus!

NEW HOSPITAL!

This month, members of UNI Dance Marathon road tripped down to Iowa City to tour the new University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital. It was an exciting visit not only because it is an impressive hospital, but because UNI Dance Marathon funded an operation room, a parent respite lounge, and a patient room. Also, on November 10th, members were invited to the Dance Marathon donor night and got to participate in the ribbon cutting for the specific rooms!

POOL PARTY!

Dance Marathon members, execs, and kiddos spent an evening having fun in the pool at the Wellness/Recreation Center. Kiddos and college students alike enjoyed doing something different for a night, and getting to know each other better! Look out for more events with the kiddos by following UNI DM on social media!

COMMA CLUB

The comma club gained some new members this month! There are now 11 people who have raised $1,000 or more For The Kids!
