December Dancer of the Month

December's Dancer of the Month is Marrissa Pasker!

Marrissa is a freshman majoring in English and minoring in pre-law. She is new to UNI DM this year and is a member of the family relations committee. She was nominated by her Morale Captain, Andie Exline who says "she comes to almost all events and meetings. She has raised over $700 and she is always the first one to reach out to me!”

Marrissa learned all about Dance Marathon at summer orientation and after talking and connecting with the DM representatives, she decided to sign up for DM. She later joined the family relations committee as a way to get to know the families better. She thought at summer orientation she would love Dance Marathon and here she is a first year member who already loves this organization, our cause, and the families we support.

This dancer of the month's favorite DM memory is getting to pie her director, Hailey Myers, in the face after a very successful push day where she raised over $500! Some of her fundraising success comes from her persistence. She encourages others to not be afraid to keep asking for donations: "some people have turned down giving a donation but I ask again a few weeks later and also continue to tell them about our kiddos and what’s going on with DM; People love to hear what our cause does and about the families we help"
