WHY DM?

The purpose of this blog is pretty simple. Why is DM important? Why do over 1,000 college students care so much about kiddos they have never met before? UNI Dance Marathon’s Big Event brings together students and the 35 miracle kiddos with life threatening illnesses and their families who we support in a fun, high energy atmosphere. Throughout the day there is a variety of games, activities, and entertainment for UNI students and the miracle kiddos to enjoy. By getting involved with UNI Dance Marathon, signing up for our Big event, and fundraising, dancers are making a difference in the lives of our miracle kiddos and their families. 100% of the proceeds raised over the past year leading up to March 7th will go to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. The Big Event is a fun day for UNI students, but the focus is on the 35 miracle kiddos from the Cedar Valley who we support, and those at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. We stand for kids who can’t, and to show that they do not fight alone. Not only will students get a chance to meet and hear the stories of some of those kiddos at the Big Event, but they will get to see the impact their fundraising and support has made on their lives. The 2015 UNI Dance Marathon Big Event will mark our fourth year, and the goal is to raise $225,000 FTK! At midnight, the total amount raised will be revealed and everyone’s hard work will be shown.
