What is a Morale Captain?
A Morale Captain is someone that is handpicked by the Director of Morale to be a part of a special leadership team that takes lead on a specific dancer group that they are assigned. Duties include communicating with your dancer group so they feel a part of the group as well as to answer any questions that they might have. They are also there to build long lasting friendships and help mold a great group that will show great amounts of passion towards Dance Marathon. Other jobs include assisting in getting dancers for the “BIG EVENT” as well as making costumes for the event. Duties on the day of the “BIG EVENT” include making sure that their dancer group is transitioning well into the dance as well as assisting them in anything they might need. Morale Captains are the fun, quirky, outgoing, loud, and full of energy kind of people that will be keeping everyone energized by going around and acting complete nuts!! They will act out in any way possible for the crowd to get going and keep them going. A Morale Captain puts all of his/her passion into this event and is someone that is very dedicated and devoted to this cause, because they especially will need to show it comes time for the “BIG EVENT”. A Morale Captain is someone who is not afraid to get up in front of a crowd and make a fool of them self or is willing to get laughed at in the process. It is someone who is outgoing and full excitement, someone who can keep the dance going on energy alone. Lastly, A Morale Captain is a believer, a believer of a cause that is go great and so infectious that they cannot sit still, they get up and DANCE…… DANCE FOR THE CHANCE.
